Orenco Elementary 5th Grader Earns Top Speller at OABE Spanish Spelling Bee

Congratulations are in order for Orenco Elementary 5th grader Amahia Gonzales-Fuentes, pictured here with Orenco English Language Specialist, Maria Cuevas Trol. Amahia won a Top Speller Award at the OABE (Oregon Association for Bilingual Education) event held at Boones Ferry Primary School in Wilsonville on April 23, 2025. Dual-language Bilingual students in Oregon participated in the Annual Spanish Spelling Bee contest available to 4th to 8th-grade students to showcase their skills and compete with their peers across the state of Oregon. Well done Amahia, you make us all Proud to Be HSD!
